Equity and Inclusion Mini Grant

Mini-Grants for Campus Partners in Equity & Inclusion

Call for Proposals

The Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion at Berkeley invites campus organizations to submit proposals for mini-grants in support of equity, inclusion and diversity at Berkeley. The purpose of these grants is to encourage new and collaborative models of campus leadership in responsive research, teaching, and public service; educational or employment equity; and campus climate.

Collaborative opportunities, those engaging two or more campus organizations as well as curricular and co-curricular activities, are especially encouraged. Funding for projects may include, but are not limited to, workshops, research, internships, service projects, campus leadership projects, conferences, summer activities, etc.

Eligibility

This mini-grant cycle is intended for campus organizations that reside outside of the Division of Equity & Inclusion (E&I), for example, academic departments, administrative or student service units, staff organizations, or research units. All UC Berkeley faculty, researchers, and staff in non-E&I units are eligible to apply.

Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students who are seeking funding to support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are directed to apply for funding through the Student Opportunity Fund, funded in part by E&I.

Availability and Amounts of Mini-Grants

Up to $5,000 per awarded grant will be available. A campus organization may not be awarded more than one mini-grant during the 2008-09 cycle. The total amount of funding for this program is limited and will not exceed $50,000 total.
